January 11
Things are going really good down here once again! The week was a little crazy, we were running all over the place doing interviews in the zone, having zone meeting, having Jedi Council with all the leaders of the mission and having interviews with President. It was a solid week.Renzo and Marisol came to church on Sunday and they loved it! For a couple weeks they were kinda off the rails with a bunch of stuff, but they are back on track now! The week was definitely a success you could say that.
Interviews with President were awesome, we had a nice little chat talking about all kinds of stuff and the work. He said I am doing a good job, at the end of the interview he said "Keep doing what youre doing Elder!" And I said "You too President!" It was funny.
Yes it is pretty warm down here and it is going to be this way for a while now. Struggles for sure. I keep telling my companion that I want the cold to return but at the same time I dont want the cold to return because that means that it is closer to the time that I need to go home! So I am in a dilemma hahaha.
Ya it was a bummer that I wont be able to extend my mission. President was happy with my desires to do it and he said that he would love to be able to, but its just not possible. The Lord will bless me all the same I believe. All things are good. Just gotta give it all I got for the last few months that remain!
I think I've explained before that in every email to Devon I ask five questions, which as of 2016 has been increased to 10...because I'm his Mom and I can do that. Here are some of his replies to my questions from last email:
1. Soooooo, you hear loud sounds like there was a war outside your apartment (on New Years Eve) and you went outside to check???????????????? Of course! I mean you only serve a mission once! Gotta live it while your in it! :)
3. K, will you be disappointed if I don't learn Spanish? And if I don't are you FULLY prepared to help me learn??? Favorite Spanish words in the BOM right now - "de cierto, de cierto" and "Espiritu Santo" You need to practice more and try harder. :)
7. How is the zone doing?? The zone is doing a lot better than it was. We are working hard with them. We have them at the point that they trust in us and love us but at the same point that we are strict enough with them to keep them in limits. Looks like we will have lots of baptisms.
8. Favorite spiritual moment from Sunday (yesterday)? Lots of investigators at church! I was asked to give a talk and to be a little firm with the leaders, which I did. It was sweet, I burned them good. The bishopric was really really happy with me.
9. "Chewie? I can't see pal, what's going on?" hahahahahahaha
10. hmmmmm, the new Star Wars or FF7? New Star Wars obviously.
January 18
I have a crazy story this week. But, REALLY crazy story this week. It was freaky, and really awesome at the same time, an experience that probably strengthened my testimony a ton. It gave me testimony that we are endowed with serious power, and that there are other forces out there that are not good. (I have omitted the experience that Devon shared with me as it is personal and not to be shared publicly. But I can say I know he and his companion were protected by a loving Heavenly Father)
We found tons of new families to teach this week and we are having good success! It is awesome here! :) Although I am currently battling 2 in-grown toe nails and several blisters, the work is awesome hahahahahaha :) - he is desperate need of new shoes, alas no size 14/15 to be found in Buenos Aires!!
